2020.09.18 22:02 Gamerking54 Your favorite to least favorite ship

  1. Yuya X Yuzu (fruitshipping)
This one is definitely one of my favorites... Like yuya crossed dimensions just to save her. They also have very cute and nice moments together.
  1. Yuesi X Aki (Faithshipping)
Do I even need to explain this one?? They went on a date... I think it was a date and the twins agree. These two was the perfect match for each other
  1. Yuma X Tori (Skyshipping)
Props to tori for being the only one to confess... Tori honestly is the less 'useless' friend character. She's always been there for him to encourage him and been his emotional support and i do believe Yuma feels the same way about Tori.
  1. Jaden X Alexis (fianceshipping)
I hate doing this to them... I really like this ship... In season 1 and 2 watching them was pretty enjoyable but... Jaden doesn't know what love is. Like compared to the other ships besides in DMs this one is the most one-sided one... I still ship them tho.
  1. Yami X Yugi
I hate this ship... Just... Why??

2020.05.27 09:19 suldags Kentaro Sakaguchi Master List

Hello there!
Here is a comprehensive Master List containing all of Kentaro Sakaguchi’s acting work in dramas, live action films, animated films, and stage plays. I have compiled these in hopes of gathering other international fans of Japanese cinema on this platform. The goal is for more people learn of Sakaguchi’s talent and join us in supporting his career.
Additionally, I have compiled CMs*, official interviews and some fun facts about Sakaguchi. Personal information will be limited to his birthday, blood type, and other generic facts. If you have anything to correct or add to this information, feel free to comment on this post! However, I urge people not to relay anything that may intrude on Sakaguchi’s privacy, like addresses, contact information, or anything too intrusive about his family. Let’s have fun while respecting personal boundaries. Thank you.
You may use this post as a guide to learning all about Kentaro Sakaguchi and his work. 😊
To follow:
\The way I understand it, CMs (Commercial Messages in Japan mean the same thing as CFs (Commercial Films in Korea. They both refer to promotional videos/short movies made as advertisements. CM = Japanese term; CF = Korean term.)* According to this user, "CM" means the music in "CFs" in Korea, but for this instance I will be using the term CM to denote ADVERTISEMENTS since it is the official term used on Kentaro's Talent Agency Profile.

FUN FACTS

FILMOGRAPHY

Official English titles are not the same as actual titles aka the direct translations from Japanese. I didn’t include those to avoid more confusion (e.g. for “My Little Sister” the actual title is “Seaside Diary”). However some of these have more than 1 accepted English title (see: “Color Me True”).
Titles will be listed from most to least recent. In the ABOUT column, links lead to EACH WORK’S corresponding page on the Official Website (OFFICIAL), AsianWiki (AW), MyDramaList (MDR), and/or IMDb. These links offer comprehensive descriptions, cast lists, ratings and reviews on each drama and film. They're a good place to start if you are interested in delving into the career and works of Kentaro Sakaguchi.
Here are my sources for his filmography. I cross-referenced every site to come up with the most accurate and updated list.

2020.05.11 07:19 RoderickHossack Just finished Aloha State. Watched B&G In the City years ago. I liked it, but it was a step down from the previous show overall. Here are my thoughts.

(spoilers for Aloha State within, but please don't spoil the seasons after it, because I haven't even started Opening New Doors yet)
Lauren: I thought she was a little antagonistic, especially early on, but overall, she was okay. Though I did think it was weird that nobody mentioned that it was mostly Seina (at least based on what we saw) that egged on Yusuke to ask her out. I'm glad she was on the show.
Yuya: He might've needed the kick in the pants from Taishi to take action in his life, since he was goofing off so much. He definitely had a lot of moments of pure ignorance of how to handle interpersonal relationships, and seemed to grow a lot over the course of the show. He was a good pick, too.
Avian: I'm a fan. Not much else to say, other than I think she and Yuya should've left maybe one or two weeks after pairing up, for the simple fact that it's super weird to be living together at the very beginning of your relationship. I'm just not sure of how that dynamic messes with its development. I also don't know if they're still together.
Eric: Same. He screwed up early on, but overall was good. Got done dirty after he left, though.
Naomi: I feel bad for her, but I liked her.
Yusuke: I'm glad that he seems to have grown from his experiences on the show. Probably my favorite cast member of the season.
Anna: Oof. She was enough of a problem to be crowned "villain" at one point. Stirring up trouble. Almost certainly had a fling with Wez off-camera, which is the only reason I can think of for her to even mention him as a reason why she'd put off leaving the island for a damn month, which isn't bad in itself, but... I'm not a fan of hers.
Taishi: I had ups and downs with this guy. As soon as he showed up, he made himself the protagonist, as the hosts said. Must've cried 20 different times over the course of the show. Never okay; always extremes in his emotional state. Ecstatic, or devastated.
I didn't like him at first because he was dating everyone and playing the field without much concern for them (i.e. not following up). I especially hated how he gave himself first dibs on every new female cast member that showed up (that "Oh, I'll get the door!" energy faded after he put Chikako on a pedestal immediately). I also wasn't a big fan of his plan to basically work towards developing a loving relationship (or his damn catchphrase) rather than simply facilitating the natural development of one by getting to know people first. It's why people kept saying "you can't do that, though." Like, yeah, you can, but that mindset alters the dynamic of any relationship that forms. It's messing with the natural order of things. Even if you believe that's what you're doing, don't actually bring that vibe out into the open; keep it to yourself.
I didn't like that he kept trying to apply his own sense of right and wrong on everyone else. If anyone did anything that he didn't think was the right move (or wasn't doing something he thought they should do), he would attempt to assert himself on them hard enough to make them do it. And he's not afraid to build up a posse to back him up, even if the posse is unwilling (like when he brought up Guy's success as a reason why Yuya should try harder). The thing is, he wasn't even necessarily wrong in his thoughts and desires for others, but he was almost entirely tactless, to just about everyone, for the entirety of the season. He's slightly older than me, but by the time I was the age he was on the show, I had already known that believing that everyone has the same values as you was a losing battle, and trying to hold them to your own standards is even worse. He didn't seem to learn that by the end (although I'm sure he must've patched things up with Cheri off-camera).
At first, I thought it was cool that he would try so hard to plan good dates, but by the time they showed his notes towards the end, I realized that he would be a particularly controlling SO. Everything would have to go just according to plan, or he'd get mad. Notice all those times (and the hosts commented on this, too) he would go in for hugs that Chika didn't necessarily want in those moments. As such, I was really surprised when she said yes to starting a relationship, though it's obvious that she would've shut things down much sooner if she wasn't gonna do so. The thing is, she essentially called him (to his face, at one point) a safe choice as a partner, which... I dunno. But I did check afterward, and sure enough, they eventually got engaged, but broke up a year later without getting married. Overall, I wish he hadn't gotten on the show, if for no reason other than how much focus he took from everyone else, but I did enjoy the "guilty samurai" running joke, especially when it made its way to the house.
And another thing... The blowup with Cheri towards the end was largely instigated by him and his efforts to change his ways. By the time that incident happened, enough time would've passed on the show for Cheri to become aware that he called her a bitch behind her back. The guy is the personification of "the wrong thing for the 'right' reasons."
Guy: I was excited to see him win, and happy for him and Niki, though it was too little, too late. I'm glad he was on the show, as he grew.
Niki: She was cool, but I wish she didn't go into it with that time limitation, though I'll admit that it made for an interesting dynamic in terms of the pressure it put on her to develop interpersonal relationships with the other cast members.
Cheri: Well. I liked her at first, but by the end of the show, I think she pretty much represented the trope of a person who deals with people thirsting for them every day (Miss Hawaii Island) and decides to take advantage of that. She was living her best life, and I don't begrudge her for that, but it was super wild when she said that she could only date Eric if she was okay with, essentially, her banging old rich dudes on the side to get them to invest in her business. She didn't quite say that, but she mentioned "networking" with them only to say "yeah I kissed a rich guy haha" later on, so I'm reading between the lines a bit. Nothing wrong with that, but to have that behavior, leading on Eric, then ghosting him, even after she chastised Taishi, is wack. Her "fuck all y'all" attitude towards the end was extremely unattractive. But, again, Taishi really didn't need to call her a bitch leading up to that.
Wes: I was excited to finally see a Black dude on Terrace House, but he was so chill that he actually wasn't really there. It reminded me of a skit I saw once on CollegeHumor about a woman who was so chill that she didn't even feel like she needed to stand, or hold her own body's particles together. She collapsed into nothingness. Dude showed up, had X amount of sex off-camera, led on Anna for a bit, then dipped. I'm not mad, but I was cheering for him to date Chikako or Cheri at the very least. Yama-chan was right to be mad at him for freeloading, though. He kinda just took advantage of the opportunity he got. What's wild is that everything that we saw is the most interesting footage they could muster over the course of 15 weeks.
Mila: I felt bad for her. Taishi honed in on Chikako, Wes wasn't interested/too old, and Guy was hung up on Niki, so she basically was out of place, and the same applies to Ryo and Mariko (so I'm skipping the both of them, as there really isn't much to say).
Chikako: I feel like she had too much pressure put on her by Taishi, the rest of the house, the hosts, and probably everyone watching to really act how she normally would have. She clearly was only somewhat interested in him the whole time, to the point where after a month of being doted on, she had to tell Taishi something along the lines of "I can't guarantee that I won't date the new guy." I can't imagine what her relationship with Taishi must've been like. So many people seemed to be saying "Taishi's great! What's the problem? Just go out with him!" but I didn't get it. He was just laying it on so thick the entire time. It's like when you see an ornate, public marriage proposal. She always "says yes." But sometimes, afterward, she tells him no, because the shit was an actual surprise, there was no discussion of that sort of thing beforehand, and she didn't really feel that strongly about the relationship, but the pressure of actually rejecting the guy in that social situation would've made her a villain in everyone's eyes. I feel like what we ultimately saw was that, spread out over 2-3 months (not counting her ostensibly giving the relationship a shot afterward). As I say all of that, I wonder if I'm overly discounting her own agency as an adult, but that's just the impression that I got.
So that's how I feel about the cast members. As a whole, I had a good time watching Aloha State over the last few weeks, but because there was no Han-san for me to just be a massive fan of, or an Arman to cheer on as the American because so many of them were American. I felt like something was missing the whole time. I think the issue is that damn near every cast member led the sort of life where the impact of being on Terrace House and having your name/life get that publicity was more important to them than the personal growth they'd experience being on the show and living there. Too many budding entertainers.
And, frankly, by the end of the show, everyone in the house was in their mid-to-late 20s, and I dunno how much age had to do with it, but when they had younger people on, there was just a lot more of a desire on their part to do things like group events. When the argument happened near the end, they hadn't yet had a single group event. In fact, IIRC, the only one they had was the boat ride literally the very last day they were all there together.
I peeked at a few posts around this sub before realizing that everyone's talking about stuff that happens in later seasons even in posts about older seasons, and quickly stopped, but I did see something along the lines of "I try to forget about that season," so it seems like the consolation after finishing this one is that the rest should be better overall, so I'm looking forward to that.

2020.05.04 18:05 Mel0n_Collie [OC] What if every world cup team had the same population? - Group F

Mayday! Mayday! A new group is upon us! Welcome back to this alternative world cup as we uncover the sixth group of eight in this fascinating made-up tournament, well, fascinating to me atleast.
My writing was briefly interrupted this morning as amidst all this major historical event malarkey, the UK sneakily changed the May bank holiday to friday leading me to run down the road in my dressing gown for a bin man I didn’t expect. Artists interpretation
I’ve since wiped the stale beer and bin juice off of myself to bring you what was collectively the most laborious group to research, but before I excite you too much, here are the groups so far
Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D, Group E
With this installment falling on May the fourth, you may want to read them in the correct order of D, E, F, A, B, C. Today’s edition begins however, with the revenge of the Sikh’s.
Punjab
3 Indian States (Punjab, Haryana, Rajastan), 1 Pakistani Province (Punjab)
Population (millions): 231.65
From the region that brought you Mundian To Bach Ke via Coventry, we bring you one of the better teams of a very bad Indian bunch.
Punjab is a Persian word meaning land of five rivers, unfortunately as far as the Football is concerned, the region tends to meander more than it flows.
The Pakistani half of the region hogs nine of 16 Pakistan Premier League clubs, denoting sporting superiority to the province's peers, of whom produced zero players for Greater Khorosan’s shortlist.
The ‘Pak Shaheen’ send an octet of failed cricketers to a side where the non-punjabi states of Haryana and Rajastan are never-presents

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is India’s number one between the sticks, and statistically exceeds the credentials of his teammates here. In September of last year Singh made an incredible 20 saves against Qatar in a completely unexpected 0-0 draw, this high-profile MOTM performance combined with Winning the ISL in 2019 earned him the Golden Glove award and the Arjuna Award for special achievement in Indian sport.
The best offering from west of the border is young fullback Ali Uzair, unfortunately that’s more of an emphasis on the lack of quality from Pakistan.
This uninspiring side has more ammature level ‘Singh’ing than a Saturday night reality show, this side has little to no X factor, it transpires that Punjab does NOT have talent.
West Indonisia & Singapore
25 most westernly Indonesian states, Singapore
Population (millions): 247.71
Aside from the aforementioned Pakistan, Indonesia is the closest sovereign nation to the target population, slightly over hitting the mark, Australia and co. nicked the West of this astronomical archipelago.
Much like many of the south-eastern countries, football is arguably Indonesia’s most popular sport along with Badminton. Playing under the historical pseudonym of the Dutch East-Indies, the Garuda were the first Asian team to participate in the World Cup in 1938, with a 6-0 defeat to Hungary their only appearance to date in the tournament.
With a substantial talent pool and a love for the game, it is frustrating that they have yet to produce a player that has made any sort of impact on the game. The man attempting to remedy that is obviously… Dennis Wise? Yes, bizarrely in what in one of the best Footballing series to come out of Youtube ‘The Search for Indonesia’s first wonderkid’ follows ‘Garuda Select’, a squad of 16/17 year old Indonesians scouted and managed by former England teammates Dennis Wise and Des Walker who give them the opportunity of spending a year in the English development system. Devised by the Indonesian FA, It’s a fascinating and unique look at the measures taken to develop the game.
A game between Garuda Select and Walsall under-17 was viewed live in Indonesia by 4.5 million people, personifying an incomparable desperation for a football team to be proud of. The now 18 year old striker Bagus Kahfi looks to be the valedictorian of the class of 2020, commanding rumours of a groundbreaking English club contract.
For now the only thing the current Indonesia squad has in common with England is that they seem adverse to being in Europe. The metropolitan super-city of Singapore joins on to the side, providing a spine of players to the squad.

While Bagus doesn’t quite have the mileage to make the squad yet, sophomore Egy Maulana could be just as prosperous. The teenager has begun making appearances in the Polish Ekstraklasa scoring 13 goals in 16 games for the reserve side.
Native league champions Bali United are responsible for almost a quarter of the squad; formed in 2015, this favourable away day is already banging on the door of Champions league qualification.
Belgian bad boy Radja Nainggolan is half-Indonesian and idolised for being so. Despite already commanding 30 caps for ‘Les Diables Rouges’ before being outcast by Roberto Martinez, if there was some way for the midfielder to change allegiances, the manager would probably let him light up a cigarette in the centre-circle if he wanted to.
Far East and WCUS
Japan, South Korea,10 US States (Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Hawaii, Alaska)
Population (millions): 241.08
By far the most strained geographical combination, this franken-side is of intermediate quality but got an absolute touch in the draw, putting them as favourites.
From K-pop to California, this region could have simply been named ‘pop-culture land’, although the star quality is monopolised by a smiley Spurs striker who is projecting a career that may well already crown him Asia’s greatest ever export.
Japan and South Korea are Asia’s most tenacious territories when it comes to World Cup qualification. A debut appearance in 1998 for the Samurai Blue sparked a sensational start to the 21st century, qualifying for the last six iterations of the tournament reaching the knockout stages on three occasions, winning the Asian Cup thrice during this spell. The talismanic talents of Cha Bum and Park Ji Sung dominate the saga of South Korea’s qualification streak that spans back to 1986, although bizarrely continental bragging rights have evaded them for 60 years.
The west coast of the United States buffers the region's populous power, hoping tactics won’t get lost in translation, four yanks make their way East.

The affiliate clubs of this team read like an interrailing checklist; the side sprinkles across a predominantly European list of heavy-to-welter-weight clubs.
Stefan Frei likely tends the goal despite hailing from Germany, while in front of him are the familiar faces of Yoshida and Sakai who both have an eye for goal.
Takashi Inui was the star of a recent World Cup campaign that cruelly resulted in Japan almost reaching the quarter finals, losing to Belgium after being 2-0 up in one of the year's most enthralling matches. The forward thinking midfielder may play parallel to Liverpool’s newest acquisition Minamino who is finding his feet at the European champions.
The region has some explosive young talent in the way of Valencia’s Kangin Lee, the 19 year old just made the cut as Barcelona’s Takeufa Kubo is one year his junior but has a higher ceiling for future stardom, but for now his talent’s are still as raw as a California sushi roll.
I can’t finish this section without nodding to the almost boringly impressive ability of Heung-Min Song. A Champions League finalist and the first Asian player to score 50 Premier League goals, ‘Sonaldo’ is the Salah of South Korea and the unofficial eighth member of BTS, his world-class abilities will undoubtedly see him have a lot of fun in this group.
East Africa
Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, South Sudan, Chad, CAR, Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Niger
Population (millions): 254.59
The poorest African region in more ways than one, it is completely forgivable that this squad doesn’t compete with their continental counterparts.
The inclusion of Tunisia is greatly beneficial as the Magreb moguls have five qualifications to their name, combine that with the rest of the region and East Africa has… five qualifications to their name.
Ethiopia features less in this squad than it’s 109 million population demands. The national team won a home Cup of Nations in 1962 but have qualified just once in the last 37 years.
Troubled nation Somalia does not feature in this squad, probably because the players keep insisting they are the captain.

The squads greatest chance of a high finish rests in the hands of Midfield pair Wahbi Khazri and Geoffrey Kondogbia; The Tunisian showed flashes of brilliance for an infamously poor Sunderland side, while the holding midfielder from CAR always has plenty in the tank.
Chad’s only representative Casimir Ninga can sneak through defenses unnoticed on his day but is an archetypal pacey dribbler with end product to be desired.
Henok Goitom should lead the line, the 35 year old striker was born in Sweden but is the offspring of two Eritrean asylum seekers. In 2008-09 Goitom reached double figures in La Liga but wasn’t to make his international debut until six years later, he now captains the red sea boys but the multigenerational talent’s best years are behind him, and having never qualified for AFCON, it might be an opportunity spurned.
The back line has the potential to be all Tunisian, a side that conceded eight goals in three games in russia, albeit presumably less than Djibouti would have.
Thanks again for reading, tomorrow we’ll have a region that would make Trump spit out his disinfectant , and the land of 9 million bicycles.

2020.04.09 13:27 Menuci My idea for a Yakuza Fighting game

I've had this idea for the basic mechanics of a Yakuza fighting game in my head for a while now. Thanks to the quarantine I've had the time to make it more solid. My apologies if the formatting is bad. I typed this in Word first, then pasted it it with slight alterations.
Possible names
  1. Inner Fighter X: History's Strongest
  2. RGG All-Stars
  3. Yakuza: Fight of Dragons
  4. Yakuza: Heat Action Fighting
  5. Yakuza Fighterz
  6. RGGVS
Short explanation of the game and mechanics.
A 3D Fighting game similar to Virtua Fighter or Tekken, but with meter and Heat (Groove) selects.
Buttons
P: Punch attack*
K: Kick attack*
G: Guard button, Tap + direction for a dodge.
H: Heat button
*P & K may also be renamed light and heavy, or attack1 and attack2 since some characters (Akiyama) will probably only do one or the other.
Heat Style Select
When picking a character you’ll also pick from one of four heat styles (grooves). These grooves wouldn’t change moves for your character, but mostly how they play. Things like heat gain, dodge invul, and attack power would be affected by your chosen Heat style. The four heat styles are.
Azure Dragon: Standard heat style. Basic attack and defense values but has greatest ability to gain heat
Black Tortoise: Defense heat style. Prioritizes defense and counters over aggressive gameplay
Vermillion Bird: Speed heat style. Best speed with a focus on juggles/ air combos.
White Tiger: Strength Heat Style. Best raw attack power of the heat styles.
Balancing the game for a multiplayer experience
Because the Yakuza series is a single player RPG, there are a lot of mechanics that are broken and exploitable, such as heat and tiger drop moves. If this is just a fighting game with Yakuza characters, then those broken aspects are completely axed, but a Yakuza fighting game can have these mechanics be adjusted for a fair multiplayer experience.
For example, Tiger drop is a busted move. If we were to keep it in a fighting game, we would have to either decrease its effectiveness, or limit how often it can be used. It can be limited by requiring a certain amount of heat to perform, or making the window to perform it extremely tight. Personally, I’d would vote for meter requirement. That way it’s still used in regular gameplay, but it’s not abusable.
As for heat actions, keeping them in the fighting game means limiting the situations they can be used in. So you’d probably only get to do heat actions while the opponent is in hitstun, or you get behind their back. There should also be defensive mechanics to avoid or defend against heat actions as well.
Heat Gauge
My suggestion for the heat gauge would be to used a 3 bar system similar to Yakuza 0. The UI could be different, but work the same. Heat is gained from attacking (and other actions) and lost from being hit. (I’m flexible on that 2nd part)

2020.03.24 17:33 Cuzittt Babymetal Kamis Through The Years

One of the consistent topics in this subreddit is that of the Kami Band members. One of the many misconceptions regarding the Kami Band members is that it has been relatively consistent throughout the years... and that recent Kami band changes represent a break from the past.
I've decided to look into the various Kami Band configurations to see how the band has been put together. For this exercise, I will be looking at who is in the band at any Babymetal event where there is either Kami presence (i.e. television appearances which may not be live) or live music events which are not necessarily Kami events (i.e. Jam Project and Dragonforce). I will not be including manipulator Hidefumi Usami within this project as he is an off-stage presence. I am not looking at number of appearances for each Kami member, rather each configuration of the Kami Band. At this time, there have been 24 different configurations of live musicians backing Babymetal.
For Legend Metal Galaxy, I will be counting Day 1 for the Eastern Kami and Day 2 for the Western Kami. Obviously, they were each present for both shows and combined for a song on each day. I will be counting upwards... So we will have the least number of appearances first. They will also be by date.
One Appearance
Takayoshi Ohmura, Leda, Ikuo, Hideki Aoyama - 2/1/13 (Legend Z)
Ohmura, Leda, Boh, Shuki Maeta - 6/23/13 (Amuse Shareholders Meeting)
Jam Project - 7/7/13 (Rock Beats Cancer)
Shinichi Kobayashi, Leda, Boh, Aoyama - 7/21/13 (Join Alive)

Isao, Ohmura, Boh, Eiji Matsumoto - 10/28/18 (Dark Night Carnival Extra Show)
Yusuke Hiraga, Ohmura, Boh, Aoyama - 8/4/19 (Super Slippa X)
Two Appearances
